Gratitude in Action

Choon Neo Siow and Dennice Wilson grew up in very different environments, yet both found deep connection with the animals around them. As a child in Southern California, Dennice sought out pets and animals everywhere she could. Choon Neo lived her early years in Singapore’s urban jungle and occasionally encountered monkeys and wild boars in the surrounding rainforest. Those early experiences, paired with their personal relationship with pets, shaped a shared lifelong compassion for animals, especially their dogs.

“Our experience at UC Davis has been outstanding. The new center in Southern California will transform veterinary care in the region.”

To honor the lifesaving veterinary care their dogs have received from UC Davis, and support veterinary medicine in Southern California where they live part-time, Choon Neo and Dennice recently gave a meaningful gift to support the new Janice K. Hobbs UC Davis Veterinary Medical Center Southern California. The lobby will bear their name when it opens in the summer/fall of 2026.

“Our experience at UC Davis with our pups, especially Harper, has been outstanding,” Dennice said. “We have been very fortunate financially and wanted to support a place we believe in. UC Davis is number one in the nation and number two in the world. The new center in Southern California will transform veterinary care in the region.”

We love animals. All animal life. We have a responsibility to take care of them. One of our duties in life is to care for animals who cannot care for themselves.”
